PROCESS OF MAKING
MS Sheet is a type of steel sheet that is made from mild steel. The manufacturing process of MS sheet involves the following steps:1. Raw Material The raw material used for the manufacturing of MS sheet is mild steel. The mild steel is obtained from the iron ore and is processed in the blast furnace to produce pig iron.2. Pig Iron: Pig iron is produced by smelting iron ore in a blast furnace. It contains a high percentage of carbon (3-4%) and other impurities such as sulfur, silicon, and phosphorus.3. Steel Making Pig iron is then converted into steel by removing the impurities through the Bessemer process or Open Hearth process.4. Casting The molten steel is then cast into slabs or billets.5. Rolling: The slabs or billets are then rolled into sheets of desired thickness.6. Annealing: The sheets are then annealed to relieve internal stresses and improve their machinability.7. Cutting The sheets are then cut into desired sizes.
